THE draw for 2005/06 Champions League quarter-finals and the
subsequent stages was presented in Paris on Friday.
Intriguingly, the proceedings managed to avoid any derby
clash involving Serie A and La Liga representatives, but
mouthwatering encounters are indeed on the line as all
Italian teams, including Inter should they shrug off the
challenge of Ajax, are spared the test against bookies' top
favourites Barcelona in the last-8. Expected no easy route
to glory, the draw paired Juve
against Patrick Vieira's former employers Arsenal while
Milan take on French dark horses Lyon. Inter could make the
list of quarterfinalists next week and next meet Spanish
debutants Villarreal.
